Our people are what makes us who we are, and we look forward to sharing their stories with you. Our first spotlight is Maya Siegel, our Supervisor, Office Services.
In your own words, please describe your role:
Along with my team, I support our employees with their office services needs, including the items they may need in order to work comfortably. In addition to that, I plan and implement social and wellness events, and programming. In other words... I try to make our staff happy!
What would you tell someone who is thinking about joining the Concert team?
That our tagline – Building a people-first future – is rooted in us, Concert's employees. Feeling valued, safe to grow and proud of what we do, is embedded in our culture.
How do Concert’s values and mission align with your personal values?
Concert has a holistic approach in how it serves our communities. This is an approach I try to uphold when striving for personal growth or building relationships in my own community.
What is your favourite memory of your time with Concert?
Participating in the 2019 Covenant House Sleep Out – about 30 employees slept outside our office for one night to raise funds for Covenant House Vancouver. The experience really brought all of us together and shed a profound light on the actual experience of homelessness and how important it is that we support youth facing crises like this.
What are your hobbies/interests outside of work?
Singing and comedy! I love performing Jazz and Blues when I can. And whenever I’m home, there's a 97% chance a comedy podcast or show is playing.
