For the first time in Concert’s history, there are two condominium towers 50 storeys or higher being constructed at the same time at two transit-oriented developments, Myriad in Coquitlam and Burke in Toronto.
Located just steps to the Burquitlam Station, the new master-planned community - Heart of Burquitlam - was created through a unique partnership between Concert, the YMCA of Greater Vancouver and the City of Coquitlam. With the new 55,000 square feet YMCA and a community park right on its doorstep, Myriad is the perfect home within this diverse neighbourhood. Soaring 50 storeys, Myriad offers 468 homes with scenic views in every direction.
Burke, which will stand 53 storeys and offer 502 homes, is located a few minutes to the Sherbourne Subway Station and Bloor Street in downtown Toronto. There are also three existing heritage homes on site that will be restored and converted into vibrant commercial spaces. The design of the tower and vibrant courtyard will breathe new life into the historic Toronto St. James neighbourhood as Burke has truly been designed to be a community for living, gathering and connecting.
While the concurrent construction of two such impressive buildings demonstrates just how much Concert has grown in the last 32 years, what remains unchanged is Concert’s dedication to creating sustainable communities that consider the long-term well-being of the people that comprise it.
“At Concert, our goal is to exceed expectations. We remain focused on how we can best service our customers,” says Colleen Anderson, Concert’s Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing. “While it’s exciting to watch these two impressive towers go up simultaneously, our focus is still on delivering an experience and product that will be enjoyed for generations to come.”
“That Myriad and Burke are both close to transit is intentional. This is central to our vision of delivering complete, transit-oriented communities,” says Brian McCauley, Concert’s President and CEO. “These two buildings reflect Concert's ongoing commitment to a sustainable, people-first future.”
