Securing the title as a BC Top Employer for the fourth consecutive year, Concert Properties reaffirms its position as an industry leader committed to fostering an exceptional workplace in British Columbia — and in every province and territory we operate in across Canada.
To achieve this recognition, employers were evaluated by a panel of judges using eight criteria assessing the company’s: workplace, work atmosphere, and social environment; health, financial and family benefits; vacation and paid time off; employee communications; performance management; training and skills development; and community involvement.
Aran Clarke, Senior Vice President, People Experience, attributes this achievement to Concert Properties’ enduring people-first ethos: “The values and principles instilled by our founders remain alive today after almost 35 years, influencing why individuals join our team and stay for the long term. They shape our employee-centred culture, guiding how we support our team, while empowering them to contribute positively to the communities we are building.”
One of our founding principles at Concert Properties is giving back to the communities where we work. Opportunities to volunteer and make a difference in helping to address poverty, hunger and youth homelessness, and to support cancer research, are just some of the many reasons people want to join and stay at Concert Properties. Our commitment to community extends to education as well, with initiatives like our annual charity golf tournament, which has helped raise and fund over $12 million for skilled trades training institutions nationwide since 1995.
In addition to investing in students, Concert Properties offers numerous avenues for professional development and training for employees through a wide network of free courses, along with an Education Assistance Program, enabling employees to be reimbursed up to 100% of the cost of a program or course.
Building Manager Dennis Marchand is a big fan of the company’s commitment to education, stating, “I began in an entry-level position, and Concert Properties provided me the flexibility to return to school for the engineering credentials I needed for a promotion."
Moreover, Concert Properties places a premium on actively listening to employee feedback and implementing meaningful changes. According to Clarke, the recent employee engagement survey revealed that 94% of employees feel engaged: “We really listen to and try to respond to what people want and need to thrive at work.”
In response to identified needs, the company increased the mental health benefit maximum from $500 to $1,500 this year, aligning with the BC Top Employer Award’s expanded focus on workplace safety and mental well-being.
Christine Bergeron, President & CEO, Concert Properties, emphasizes, “Our success as a BC Top Employer reflects the dedication of our people and our commitment to fostering a workplace where individuals thrive both personally and professionally. For us, building a people-first future begins right here within our organization.”
