Capital Park Residences, the final phase of the mixed-use master-planned Capital Park community, has now sold out, marking the completion of this new and significant Victoria neighbourhood.
Developed in partnership with Jawl Properties, Capital Park is located in one of Victoria’s premier locations and includes sophisticated condominium and rental homes, market-leading office and retail space, as well as thoughtful community amenities and public areas.
Evolving from the Victoria Accord, a planning agreement established with the City of Victoria over 20 years ago that sought a mixed-use approach for the area, the transformation of the historic Victoria James Bay neighbourhood has revitalized the area.
The Accord sought to ensure that the development fit in with the historic James Bay Neighbourhood and nearby Legislature building, that it opened up public access through and to amenities, and that critical views were preserved. Now that vision has become a reality.
“It has transformed the community and you feel it with every step,” says Alison Wedekind, Senior Sales Manager at Concert. “So many people don’t remember what was here before, and that’s because it was non-descript – a parking lot and some aging provincial office buildings.”
Today Capital Park is a place where residents, neighbours and co-workers come together in a community that is well-appointed and welcoming with a network of expansive plazas, courtyards, calming water features and garden pathways that connect James Bay to the legislature and the Inner Harbour.
Further enhancing the everyday convenience for Capital Park and the broader neighbourhood is the on-site Red Barn Market, a Good Earth Coffeehouse opening onto the central plaza, as well as a local branch of the Victoria Public Library.
“The completion of Capital Park breathes new life into a key area that links the downtown core to the James Bay community,” says Colleen Anderson, Concert’s SVP, Sales and Marketing. “Guided by Concert’s people-first design principles, Capital Park has transformed this area into a vibrant and connected community while honouring the area’s historic character."
