May 12, 2020, Vancouver, B.C. – Through Concert’s Community Works initiative, Concert Infrastructure is giving back to the community with donations to five organizations focused on food programming. As we work to strengthen the economic and social fabric of Canadian communities through the infrastructure we develop, invest in and manage, we also recognize the needs of these communities during this unprecedented time, with food programs experiencing increased demand and food supply shortages.
“COVID-19 has created a crisis among food accessibility, especially among the most vulnerable Canadians. In particular, children who rely on school-based food programs at many of the schools that Concert Infrastructure has invested in and continues to manage, now have even greater needs,” says Derron Bain, Managing Director. “Concert Infrastructure is proud to contribute funds to five programs that work to alleviate food insecurity for families in need.”
The donations made today will provide financial support to food programs in Saskatoon (CHEP Good Food), Regina (REACH), Edmonton (e4c), Calgary (Brown Bagging for Calgary’s Kids) and Iqaluit (Niqinik Nuatsivik Nunavut Food Bank).
“We are grateful to these local programs and volunteers who continue to provide meals to vulnerable people, ensuring no one in need goes hungry,” said Derron Bain.
