On October 24, 2017, a group of 40 members of the Urban Development Institute (UDI) went on a tour of two buildings within The Creek, Concert’s six-acre waterfront community in Vancouver’s Southeast False Creek neighbourhood.
Senior Vice President of Development Craig Watters, Development Manager Kate Sunderland Ratzlaff, and Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Colleen Anderson led the tours, opening with a discussion of the evolution of Concert’s master-plan community. This development, Concert’s fifth master-plan community, includes a total of five buildings adjacent to a planned 2.7-acre City park.
The group first toured the affordable housing building that Concert developed on behalf of the City of Vancouver. The building is geared towards families, including two in-home daycare suites. The 15-storey development will provide 135 suites of affordable family housing that will be run by a non-profit housing operator for the City.
“The Creek offered us the opportunity to create a variety of housing options along this beautiful, walkable waterfront,” said Brian McCauley, President and CEO of Concert. “When we work together with the City, we can develop quality affordable rental housing that benefits the community.”
The tour also included a walk-through of Voda at The Creek, the first of three condominium phases that will welcome residents in early 2018.
