Vancouver, BC, Canada – Concert is proud to have raised a record-breaking $155,000 for trades training in their 15th annual golf tournament.
It was a day of clowning around on the course as just about everyone got into the year’s travelling carnival theme. In addition to serving up carnival fair staples such as popcorn and snow cones there were classic games that included the hi-striker, ring toss and a shooting gallery. The big finale before the reception was a dunk tank where Concert staff, including Concert’s President & COO, Brian McCauley literally sat on the edge of their seats while golfers took aim.
“Signing up to be in the dunk tank seemed like a good idea until I put my hand in the cold water!" said McCauley. “All kidding aside, everyone at Concert was very proud to once again host a unique, fun-filled day of golf that raised a substantial sum for trades training across the country. We wish to thank our trades, consultants and suppliers for their generous support."
Since 2002, Concert Properties and industry partners have been working together to support trades training through the Trades Discovery Sponsorship Program, a program that supports building trades students in the Trades Discovery Program at BCIT. This year, Concert demonstrated its continued support for trades training across Canada by expanding this year’s golf tournament beneficiaries to include ACCESS BladeRunners, Hammer Heads and BOLT along with the Trades Discovery Program at BCIT. These programs all provide an ongoing supply of highly-skilled and well-trained trades people to the construction trades industry, a cause to which Concert is highly committed.
With the generous support of the 140 golfers who played at QGolf Club (Quilchena Golf & Country Club) in Richmond on Thursday, September 20 Concert was able to raise another $155,000 for a worthy cause. To date, Concert has contributed over $1.6 million in support of students in trades and technology programs related to the construction industry through various initiatives.
