On the afternoon of Friday, March 18, the BC Professional Fire Fighters' Burn Fund opened the doors to their new Burn Fund Centre in Vancouver.
Vancouver is home to British Columbia’s only Level 1 burn and trauma centre and, as such, many out-of-town burn survivors spend a lot of time in the city during treatment and recovery. The Burn Fund Centre addresses a critical shortfall of suitable short-term accommodation for patients and their families. In addition to providing housing and communal amenity areas, the Centre acts as the new home of several programs that provide burn survivors with support and a place to connect.
Concert worked closely with the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Association, donating its development and project management services to turn this much-needed facility into a reality. Concert’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, David Podmore, was on hand at the Grand Opening to celebrate the successful completion of this world-class centre with the community. The Centre acknowledged Concert’s contribution by dedicating an amenity area as the “Concert Community Room”.
