Giving back to the communities that we work, live and build in has been a priority for Concert since our inception – we believe that is an essential part of our role as a community builder.
Often, when people stop to think about community, they imagine parks, restaurants, and the various places they enjoy spending time. But the true heart of any community lies with the people who inhabit it.
For the past few years Concert has worked with Our Place, an inner-city community centre that serves Greater Victoria’s most vulnerable populations by providing hot showers and free clothing, counseling and outreach services, transitional housing, and over 1,200 meals a day.
The Sponsor-A-Breakfast program requires a minimum donation of $500 to cover the cost of food, which Our Place kitchen staff prepares, and also includes the option of bringing in your team to help serve the meal.
Coming together with industry partners Colliers International, Stantec and Farmer Construction, Concert staff delivered meals at four co-sponsored breakfasts, the last taking place on Tuesday, May 24, 2016.
“It’s always a humbling experience to serve at one of these events,” says Alison Wedekind, Concert’s Senior Sales Manager in Victoria. “We did this last year and not only is it a great thing to do for the community, but it provides us a unique opportunity to connect with our development industry partners – bright and early in the morning!”
