Vancouver, BC, Canada – As Chair of BC Children’s Hospital and President & CEO of Concert Properties, David Podmore today extended a friendly challenge to his industry colleagues and their companies to match or exceed the amount Concert will raise for BC Children’s Hospital Foundation’s Building for Kids initiative.
For years, the BC Children’s Hospital has provided sick kids treatment, hope and even life itself. BC’s Real Estate & Development Community has joined together to help raise funds to purchase vital equipment for BC Children’s Hospital through a program called Building for Kids. The Community’s goal is to raise $1 million this year and well surpass the $717,000 raised by the Real Estate & Development Community in 2005.
“Imagine building your next project with outdated tools. Now imagine your job is saving kids’ lives,” said David Podmore. “The real estate industry is booming and we now have the opportunity to share some of our good fortune with BC Children’s Hospital. By providing our children with the best possible health care we will ensure a sustainable future for our community. In this business, we know the value of good equipment.”
If the industry rises to the challenge, Concert indicated that it will be well on its way to reaching the target. As an integral part of the community, the industry’s support in funding vital equipment will be integral to the success of this endeavour.
“Concert Properties is a proud partner of Building for Kids, and we urge everyone in the Real Estate & Development Community to get involved and except our challenge. Don’t delay - join BC’s Real Estate & Development Community to help fund new tools and equipment for BC Children’s Hospital,” challenged Podmore. “Let’s show the community that developers care about kids and their families!”
