Back in January 2016 Concert committed to placing 15 Syrian refugee families with accommodation for one year at a subsidized rate in line with the government’s refugee housing benefits at the Whitgift Gardens in Coquitlam.
Unfortunately a fire broke out at the residence on the morning of July 28, 2016. Though the fire was contained with no residents incurring injury, about 50 people were left homeless.
In the wake of the fire, Concert is proud to help the affected refugee families and other residents rebuild their lives through a $20,000 donation to the Coquitlam Firefighters Charitable Society.
“While saddened by the unfortunate circumstances, we’re happy to play a role in helping these families continue to settle into their new lives here in Canada,” says Brian McCauley, Concert President and Chief Operating Officer.
